I have had a very successful career in broadcast news since 1979 and recently hung up my headset and retired.

I got my start as a radio and TV reporter and news anchor and have been a news writer/reporter for the last 28 years.

In 2008 at the age of 47 I went to Africa and climbed Mount Kilimanjaro. It was a life changing experience and was definitely an adventure as I had never done anything like that before. It was made all the more difficult when I got food poisoning on the first day of the trek and continued to re-infect myself with the protein bars I had brought from home. But I learned about perseverance and how I could achieve anything I set my mind to, when I reached the summit, despite my physical challenges.

In 2010 I sold everything, quit my job and began travelling to see as much of the world as I could before my money ran out.

I cycled through Vietnam; spent 3 months in India, Nepal and Sri Lanka; I spent a month in Egypt; and settled in Tel Aviv, Israel for a year and a half. I used it as my home base to see more of the Middle East and Europe. Unfortunately I learned the hard way, that it is one of the most expensive cities in the world. When my money ran out, the 2012-2013 war broke out between Hamas in Gaza and Israel. It was the right time to leave.

I came back to Toronto to start all over again with nothing. Luckily my old employer was willing to hire me back as a senior producer, where I remained until my retirement.

Now that I'm retired, I plan to continue my travels, my writing and my photography as well as seeing more of my family and friends. And I hope to bring you along on this journey.
