Thank you so much for your support and kindness words. It means so much to me coming from someone I respect.
I love your coming of age stories the best.I think the first story I read of yours was "We were teenagers learning night moves" and I was hooked.
Part of the reason is because I can relate., since I grew up in the same era. But it’s the way you tell a story. The voice you use, your descriptive language. I love when you show your strength of character either with a slap down or just your “I’m not taking any shit” attitude.
I can’t get enough of your Cambodia stories. I thought I would feel satisfied after reading your book but that only made me want to read more of your writing.
I'm reading and rereading your Camino stories. I have a thing for travel stories (duh!) and you have convinced me that it's something I should do.
And I like your stories about this stage of your life. Like the class reunion story I just read. It made me laugh and by the end was pulling at my heart strings.
To me that’s a great writer. Any genre. Happy, poignant, angry, but overall open honesty, writing from personal experience and from the heart.
