What a brilliant article. You articulated the issues clearly, raising awareness about this historic injustice in India... that is still happening today!! Despite the caste system being taken off the official government books, it is still a fact of life for tens of millions of Indians, who were born into lower castes.

During the few months I spent in India I saw the effects of it first hand, but every time I would question it, I was told it didn't happen any longer, except in a few exceptions.

And anyone who raises the issue of "reservations" or "affirmative action" is clearly showing their true colors. Thank you for sharing your thoughts about this issue that is key to India's future development.
